Bunny pages!!!

What's some of the best things about having a new pet?  If you're a scrapbooker like me, then you'll probably include "scrapbooking them" in your list.

I've done two more bunny pages in the last week, including this cheeky last minute page using this "Stuck?!" sketches sketch:

The great thing about having my photos printed out at 4"square is that they go perfectly with the frames I included in my September Counterfeit Kit. The other thing they go perfectly with is, of course, 6" papers for layering, so I've added some of these in with my kit as well.

Scrapbook Boutique September challenge

My eldest son and his friend are getting together to cook for the two families tonight, the theme being "Easter in September".  The company and the main course will be fabulous, but the chocolate dessert isn't the most exciting for me, since I've quit sugar!  But here's the sort of delicious treat I can really appreciate . . . this month's Scrapbook Boutique challenge . . .

Pink and white, doilies and roses . . . I just couldn't wait to get started!

I made a special trip to Domayne to print some phone photos of Maddy and her new bunny, Tibbets.

I started my background once again by applying some white rub-ons, before smooshing gelatos on with the packaging technique.

I mixed items from both my white- and off white- based Counterfeit Kits this time.  Maddy and I had recently purchased some moulds and paper clay, and this layout features their first appearance on a page.

Before I packed up, I ended up doing a second page. Some of the elements you might recognise, although I didn't stick to the same colour palette.

Same beautiful girl, but slightly younger! This photo was taken at the same time as this one of her brothers.

Thanks for stopping by!

September Counterfeit Kit Challenge Member Blog Hop

Hello scrappy friends and welcome to my stop on the CKCB Blog Hop.

You should have arrived here from the talented Julene's blog.  If you haven't, you can always hop on back to the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog and start from the beginning!

My project today was for Challenge #1: "A Single Pop of Colour on White":

That adorable baby in the photos will be 17 in a couple of months, can you believe it!?  (Mind you, his mother looks that much older, now, too!!)

This is my third page this month using the "packaging technique" to "smoosh" my gelatos onto the background.  I'm really loving it and I don't think I'll be stopping any time soon!

I hope you'll take the time to leave a comment before you go and let me know you've been, and what techniques you're loving at the moment.

And now it's time to take your last hop to the lovely Lisa . . . have fun!

Mixed Media page with ColourQ

Hooray!  Another challenge completed this week!  This time around I played with the beautiful inspiration from ColourQ:

These colours went perfectly with a photo of my boys taken about ten years ago . . .

I had lots of fun creating the background.  First I played with modelling past and a home-made stencil, then went over it with my gelatos and the packaging/smooshing technique.

Thanks again for visiting, I hope you've had time to do something crafty this weekend, too!

September "Scrap the Boys" - "Matching Ouchies"

Continuing in my effort to get back into the craft room and away from the online "shopping cart", I've completed another sketch challenge, this time for "Scrap the Boys".
Here's the sketch:

I took a little bit of liberty with this sketch, but I loved the 3 clusters of tags around the photo, so that's what I tried to replicate:

This photo is about ten years old, and was taken to show the matching grazes that they had on their knees.

(Angus also had a graze on his elbow, hence the adorable pose!)

All the items except for some of the tags have come from my September Counterfeit Kit.

Thanks so much for visiting, and as always, I'd love to hear your strategies for crafting more and spending less!

September "Stuck?!" sketches and "Scrap Our Stash" page.

This month, my first page using my September Counterfeit Kit is for the combined challenge from "Stuck!?" sketches and "Scrap Our Stash".

Here's the sketch:

and the "Scrap Our Stash" Challenge:

And here's my page:

The items from my stash to fulfil the "Scrap Our Stash" criteria were:
  • L- label stickers
  • A - alphabet stickers
  • Y - yellow (paper and frame)
  • E - epoxy stickers (on faux flair)
  • R - rub-ons
  • S - stamps (faux flair)

I've got some old rub-ons I'm trying to use, and on this page I used white rub-ons on white cardstock, then applied gelatos using the packaging/"smooshing" technique that's all over Youtube at the moment.

Thanks for stopping by!

September Counterfeit Kit

There's been a bit too much shopping and not enough crafting around here lately, but the good news is, it's the start of the month, and that means Counterfeiting time!

I have to confess, the inspiration kit from Studio Calico didn't really do anything for me . . .

Undeterred, I wrote myself a list of some elements which appeared in the kit:
  • grid
  • clouds
  • grey and white
  • yellow floral
  • pink with dots
  • text paper
  • orange watercolour
  • vellum shapes
  • pops of gold
  • ferns
Then I went looking for papers that matched any item on my list. . .

Which gave me a rather large and not-particularly related pile of papers.  So next I went looking for a multi-coloured paper or two that would tie some paper together into a collection.  I came up with 5 candidates . . .

At this point it became obvious to me that some of my papers had a bright, white base, while others had a distinctly off-white base.  Which led me to separating the papers out into two piles . . .

. . . and after some shuffling papers in and out, and adding in a few embellishments (largely from a couple of recent purchases that I had not yet put away, and some bulkier items from my "flat embellishment" folder) and before I knew it, I had not one, but two kits, looking almost exactly unrelated to the original inspiration!

Introducing my first kit, September showers

I recently bought a Crate Paper "best of" pack online and special.  Have you seen one of those thing?  I didn't grasp until it came in the mail just how much paper 180 sheets of paper actually is!!  So I was pretty keen to include a lot of those papers and cut-aparts in this kit.  Of course, being in a bargain pad means they are also very thin, so I made sure to include some other papers and vanilla cardstock as well.

I've called my second kit "Spring Flowers", and here it is:

This second kit has a much fresher, more whimsical feel, giving me no excuse to not have something to play with (I hope!)

So what do you think? Which kit would you rather play with?  Or more importantly, what items from your own stash are you pulling out to play with this month?  Have fun!
